Itinerary
1
Oosterdok
Amsterdam Oosterdok, once a bustling 19th-century harbor, is now a vibrant district blending historic charm with modern architecture. Key attractions include the NEMO Science Museum and the National Maritime Museum. The area offers scenic waterfront views and a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces.
2
Houseboat Museum
Houseboat Alley in Amsterdam is a unique residential area where traditional houseboats line the picturesque canals. This charming neighborhood offers a distinctive living experience, blending the city's maritime heritage with modern comforts. It's a popular spot for visitors to explore Amsterdam's iconic waterways and experience life on the water.
3
The Amstel
The Amstel is the biggest canal of all and Amsterdam was founded from this canal which was originally a river. Fisherman builded a "dam" and called is Amstel're'dam.
4
The Dancing Houses
The reason the houses in Amsterdam are tilted is because of the soil. The city is built on marshlands, which means that everything heavy sinks right into the soil. Therefore, we started to build upon wooden poles to reach a deeper and more sturdy layer of soil that could support the heavy houses.
5
Dutch National Opera & Ballet
Today this area is known as the “Stopera”, a combination of STadhuis (Cityhall in Dutch) and Opera. Together they form the Stopera!
6
Seven Bridges View Point
After the Thorbecke bridge you will see the famous 7 Bridges! If you are lucky, and there are no other boats, you can see 7 identical stone bridges in a row.
7
Herengracht
Admire the stunning mansions along the Golden Bend of the Herengracht, a place renowned for its historical grandeur and lavish architecture.
