Monastery of Alcobaca

Batalha Monastery
Erected in honor of the Portuguese victory in the Battle DE Aljubarrota (1385), the Monastery DA Batalha is one OF the greatest masterpieces OF Gothic architecture of the Iberian Peninsula. Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, combines Gothic and Manueline elements with delicate sculptures and stunning glazing.
The DE stack goes to the Royal Pantheon, where the kings D. John I and D. Filipa of Lencastre rest, and to the Imperfect Chapels, an impressive unfinished structure that fascinates all visitors.

Convento de Cristo
The Convent of Christ, founded in 1160, is one of the most enigmatic and fascinating monuments in Portugal. Classified as a World Heritage Site DA UNESCO, it combines Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline and Renaissance architecture in one monumental complex.
