From May to late October, a variety of flowers can be seen on the vast land of Hokkaido. In particular, the flower fields at Furano and Biei are covered by the fragrant flowers like lavender and so on, which turn the slope into a beautiful flowery rainbow on the canvas. Highlight spots include Tomida Farm’s lavender field with longest history of its kind in Japan, Biei’s Shikisai-no-oka made by flower patch-work, and the Garden Path full of different kinds of flowering plants.

A romantic shopping area in the forest with 15 log houses. There are many “Furano-like products” with the theme of nature, and the atmosphere of a hidden village and the warmth of wood creates a stylish space.

Shirogane Blue Pond
Biei is renowned for its gentle flower slopes, as well as its painting-like Blue Pond. The waterfall gushes with aluminum merges into Biei River, a colloid is produced and clashes with sunlight, therefore the lake presents the unique blue color. Moreover the withered Japanese birch and larch standing in the lake bring about a still yet gasping beauty.

Biei-cho
The lavender fields of Furano, which is next to Biei, are also famous, but it is also famous as a place where you can enjoy beautiful and colorful flower fields. Tulips and pansies in the spring, lavender and salvia in the summer, marigolds in the fall, and dozens of other flowers are replanted according to the season.
