Lake Como
This glacial lake, lying 50 km North of Milan and close to the Swiss-Italian border, has always had a strong appeal for artists and tourists. Since the Roman age, it has been a leisure location for aristocrats and still, due to the quite impervious configuration, it has not been reached by the mass tourism.
It shows a characteristic "Y" shape, dividing itself into the "Como branch" (South-West), the "Lecco branch" (South-East) and the "Colico basin" (North).
