Museo Fundacional
Mendoza was founded on March 2, 1561 by Pedro del Castillo. Much of the City was destroyed 300 years later by an earthquake. Few buildings remained standing, one of them is the Ruins of the Church of San Francisco, located on the corner of Ituzaingó and Beltrán streets. The Municipality of the City of Mendoza made an important and hard effort to recover and preserve its architectural heritage. The Plaza Pedro del Castillo was remodeled, finding true treasures in its excavations, such as the remains of the original Cabildo from the colonial era and the fountain that supplied water to its former inhabitants. In this property where the City of Mza was founded, there is also the Museum of the Foundational Area (MAF) where you can see inside excavations with vestiges of the ancient city, it has an expographic design for audiences with motor and visual disabilities. This is a “site and interpretation” archaeological museum, the only one of its kind in the city

Casa de San Martin
The Casa de San Martín Site Museum and Interpretation Center constitutes a valued historical place that is integrated into the Sanmartiniano circuit of the City of Mendoza. It corresponds to the space that historical memory and historiography attributed to the location of the house where General José de San Martín resided between 1814 and 1817.
In this sense, around 1975 the place was declared a National Historic Site and commemorative plaques were placed. They constituted the only evidence that led to the pilgrimage of schools and visitors who sought to know the general's steps in Mendoza.

Museo de Ciencias Naturales y Antropologicas Juan Cornelio Moyano
This space has as its predecessor the Museum of Natural History, created by decree, in 1858, by the then first Constitutional Governor of the province, Colonel Major Juan Cornelio Moyano. After various political events and the 1861 earthquake that devastated Mendoza, on April 15, 1911, it was decided to create the “Regional General Museum.” It was led by the Chilean naturalist Carlos Samuel Reed. From that date to the present, the museum continues to perfect its work and increase its scientific-educational work. Today, that organization bears the name of the Juan Cornelio Moyano Museum of Natural and Anthropological Sciences.

Fuente de los Continentes
The Fountain of the Continents is inspired by the sculpture group by Frenchman Jean Baptiste Carpeaux (“The Four Continents”) that adorns the Luxembourg Gardens.
It is attributed to the legendary sculptor Lola Mora. The main theme is the representation of the continents: America, Asia, Europe and Africa. Leave aside Oceania, which until recently was considered part of the Asian continent. This fountain constitutes a notable example of the methods of reproduction in worked iron by casting in molds, precisely because of the plastic quality and refinement of the figures and ornamental motifs.
