Luxor Temple
Luxor Temple
Visit Luxor Temple, a stunning open-air museum in the heart of the city. Built by Amenhotep III and expanded by Ramses II, the temple was once linked to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes. It still holds the remnants of a chapel dedicated to Alexander the Great and inscriptions from the time of Tutankhamun.
Marvel at its grand colonnades, giant statues, and beautifully preserved reliefs—especially at night when the temple is beautifully lit.

Temple of Karnak
After lunch, begin your East Bank tour with a visit to Karnak Temple—the largest religious complex from ancient Egypt. Walk through its colossal hypostyle hall, and see towering obelisks and sacred spaces dedicated to Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This vast site was expanded by many great pharaohs, including Ramses II and Hatshepsut.
Then continue to Luxor Temple, once connected to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes, and closely linked to the young king Tutankhamun.
