This is a spectacular five day climb to the peak as you cross the lowland forests alpine tundra with giant groundsels and lobelias. A number of small glaciers are to be found around the summit. This climb will take you up the Sirimon Route to the hiker's summit of Lenana Pt (4985m) and down via the Chogoria route so that you can enjoy a complete traverse of the mountain to to old Moses. The following days hike up to Shipton Camp takes us past the peaks of Teleki and Sendeyo (3990m) which are actually ancient volcanic vents of the main peak. The following day we will start early on day four to make the final steep climb to the peak which offers views of Mount Kilimanjaro to the south and Mt. ...

Leave Nairobi at 8.00 am to Nanyuki town for lunch, taking about 4 hours. After lunch, proceed to Sirimon Gate taking about 1 hr at an altitude of 2650m. (Sirimon, Judmier Camp, Old Moses Camp 3-4 Hrs, 9Km, 860m Ascent). From the gate follow the road as it winds uphill though the forest which becomes heathland after about 3 hrs. After the 3½ hours hike from the gate, the road veers right to Judmaier/Old Moses Camp 9 km for dinner and overnight ( 3300m.).
