Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo East–Into the Red Wilderness Your safari adventure begins at sunrise from Nairobi. You journey southeast through the heartland of Kenya, watching the landscape slowly give way to the endless, untamed plains of Tsavo East National Park — a land where the earth blushes red, and elephants roll in the dust like shadows of an ancient world. Upon entering the park, the vast savannah opens before you, framed by the gentle ribbon of the Galana River, where crocodiles lurk and hippos wallow in silence. You’ll embark on a leisurely game drive enroute to your lodge, eyes peeled for lions lounging under acacia trees, graceful giraffes browsing the thorny canopy, and of course, the famous red elephants — their hides stained by the ochre earth. You will arrive in time for lunch at your hotel followed by some rest and an evening game drive later in the day.
