About
The Erg Chebbi Dunes are the highest and largest sand dunes of Morocco. Beautifully formed by the the wind, they surround Merzouga and are an important part of the Sahara Desert. When you visit Merzouga, it’s a must to head inside the dunes to explore this astonishing world phenomenon.
You can explore the dunes by camel trekking, with a small 4×4 group tour, or by renting a quad.
Departure from Marrakech in the morning, the driver will pick you up from your hotel.
You take the road towards the dunes of Merzouga, passing through the High Atlas via the Tichka pass located at an altitude of 2260. The first stop will be Kasbah Ait ben Hadou and the ancient Kasbah of Talouet. These two fortified villages, recognized as UNESCO world heritage sites, offer you a complete panorama of the construction techniques of ancient earthen houses...Lunch at the Kasbah and direction towards Ouarzazate. In Ouarzazate, you visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and studios cinema before going to the Dadès gorges. Enjoy the splendid landscapes of the Dadès Valley, the Valley of Roses and Kalaa M’gouna.
