Be picked up from your hotel in Lhasa at 08:00 am, departing for
Gyangtse by private vehicle via the Gampa La pass. Pass by the Yarlung Tsangpo River (which becomes the famed Brahmaputra River in India), and drive southwest along the zigzagged road to Kamba-la Pass, which sits at an elevation of 15,518 feet (4,730 meters). Take in views of the famed Yamdrok Lake, one of the largest of Tibet’s three most sacred lakes. Climb high mountain passes and traver scenic valleys populated with yaks, sheep, shrines and villages. Stop for a photo at the Karo-la Pass, elevation 16,900 feet (5,150 meters), and admire the view of Mt Noijin Kangsang and the Karola Glacier.
Arrive in Gyangtse in the afternoon and spend the rest of your day at leisure.
