Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, is famous for its surreal rock formations that resemble animals and objects. Unlike other valleys in Cappadocia, there are no churches or dwellings here—just nature’s creativity on full display. Visitors love spotting shapes like a camel, dolphin, or even a praying monk among the fairy chimneys. It’s a fun and whimsical stop that sparks the imagination and offers great photo opportunities.

Zelve Open-Air Museum is one of the oldest and most impressive monastic settlements in Cappadocia. Spread across three valleys, it features a labyrinth of rock-cut churches, homes, tunnels, and a historic mosque. Once a vibrant village, Zelve was abandoned in the 1950s due to erosion, and now stands as a fascinating blend of history and nature. Its dramatic scenery and lesser crowds make it a perfect spot for exploration and photography.

Paşabağ, also known as Monks Valley, is home to some of Cappadocia’s most striking and well-preserved fairy chimneys. The valley features iconic mushroom-shaped rock formations, many with multiple caps and carved-out interiors. It was once a retreat for hermit monks, and you can still visit the chapel dedicated to St. Simeon inside one of the formations. With its dramatic landscape and rich spiritual history, Paşabağ is a must-see stop on any Cappadocia tour.

While you are still under the spell of what you have just seen, our next stop will be to see Avanos, the centre of pottery made of white and red clay in Türkiye, which was also home to the Hittites. For this different experience, you can try if you wish.

Uçhisar Castle, the highest natural castle of Cappadocia, which was once home to Persians, Romans, Byzantines and many other nations, will be our next stop.
