Black Desert
The Black Desert spans approximately 30 kilometers in western Egypt, situated between the White Desert to the south and the Bahariya Oasis to the north. This distinctive region is marked by volcano-shaped mounds that are generously spaced. The majority of these mounds exhibit a unique black coloration, attributed to the basalt sills crowning their summits.

White Desert
Established in 2002, White Desert National Park stands as a protected area in Egypt, situated within the Farafra depression, approximately 45 km north of the town of Farafra. Spanning into the Farafra Oasis in the New Valley Governorate, the park boasts extensive white chalk rock formations shaped by the forces of wind and sand erosion. Notable features include cliffs at the northern edge of the Farafra Depression, sand dunes belonging to the Great Sand Sea, and Wadi Hennis, alongside oases like Ain El Maqfi and Ain El Wadi. El Qess Abu Said marks the park's highest point at 353 meters above sea level, while Wadi Hennis represents its lowest point at 32 meters. Serving as a sanctuary for diverse wildlife, the park is home to endangered species such as the Rhim gazelle and vulnerable creatures like the Dorcas gazelle, Barbary sheep, jackals, Rüppell's, Red, and Fennec foxes, as well as Sand cats.
