Bogd Khaan Palace Museum
Built between 1893 and 1903, the Bogd Khan Winter Palace Complex is one of the few Mongolian historical sites that survived the Soviet and Communist eras. The complex includes the Winter Palace, the Gate of Peace and Happiness, the Cooling Pavilion, and six temples such as Naidan and Makhranz, showcasing Buddhist art, scriptures, and thangkas. Today, the museum houses around 8,600 exhibits, including the Bogd Khan’s throne, bed, ceremonial ger, gifts from Tsar Nicholas II, and unique royal artifacts.
