Your adventure begins early with a scenic train ride from Cusco to Km 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail. After crossing the checkpoint, you’ll start hiking through lush cloud forests filled with orchids, hummingbirds, and ancient Inca ruins.
Visit Chachabamba and Wiñaywayna, two stunning archaeological sites surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes. Enjoy a delicious box lunch with views of the Sacred Valley before continuing to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) — where you’ll get your first magical view of Machu Picchu.
Later, descend to the citadel for a short visit and capture unforgettable photos. Then, take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll relax at your hotel and enjoy a hearty dinner at a local restaurant.
