The Dambulla Cave Temple is Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved cave temple complex. It consists of five main caves carved into a massive granite rock 160 meters above the surrounding plains. These caves are filled with over 150 Buddha statues, vibrant murals covering 2,000 square meters, and a serene spiritual atmosphere.

Cave 1 – Devaraja Lena (Cave of the Divine King):
A massive reclining Buddha statue (14 meters long).

Cave 2 – Maharaja Lena (Cave of the Great Kings):

Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress and palace built atop a 200-meter (660 ft) tall granite rock column. Known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by some locals, it combines natural beauty, engineering brilliance, and rich historical and cultural value.
Highlights of the Visit:
The Lion’s Gate & Stairway:
Halfway up, you'll reach the Lion's Gate, with two giant lion paws carved into the rock. This was once a massive lion-shaped gateway.
From here, you climb a spiral staircase to the summit.
Frescoes:
Midway, you’ll find a sheltered rock gallery of ancient frescoes, believed to be celestial maidens or "apsaras" painted over 1,500 years ago.
They're remarkably preserved and full of color and elegance.
The Mirror Wall:
A polished wall once so shiny that the king could see his reflection.
Covered in ancient graffiti—verses written by visitors over a thousand years ago.
