Thanks to the beauty and depth of the Banderas Bay, Riviera Nayarit is one of the top scuba diving destinations in Mexico. Visibility and ideal water temperature have made both experts and beginners fall in love with the Bay of Banderas waters. Located in the mouth of Banderas Bay are the beautiful Las Marietas Islands, about 30 min from La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Formed by volcanic activity over thousands of years, the islands are a nationally protected bird sanctuary, also providing shelter for countless marine species.

Los Arcos is an excellent dive site for both experienced and not so experienced divers. It is a protected area with in general bigger sealife such as eagle rays, lobsters, eels, turtles, octopuses as this is the deepest point of the bay (max depth 130 ft) We include two tank dives from the boat!

If you are looking for the real experience to breathe underwater for first time this is your best option. While this is not a scuba certification course, this is a quick and easy introduction of about 4 hours to what it takes to explore the underwater world!

Every year around the end of November till the beginning of April we are honored to welcome the Humpback whale in our area. Once the water temperature changes, they come down with the colder currents from Alaska to mate and raise their babies. These incredible animals that can grow up to 52 ft are an absolute must see for nature lovers. Let these giants surprise you when they come to greet us peacefully; enjoy playtime of the newborn calves: a spectacular water show with turns and jumps guaranteed! Be stunned by their enchanting song, which can last up to 20 min and can be repeated for hours…

Yelapa is a tiny village located at the most southern point of bay of Banderas and doesn´t have any cars as the road stops a couple of km before the village. It is only reachable by boat and with its calm bay of transparent water you´ll find an oasis of peace and tranquility. We include time for yourself to relax with a refreshing margarita or eat a delicious local ceviche at the beach!
