The Sistine Chapel is a Renaissance masterpiece of the Vatican, famous for Michelangelo's frescoes and its unique liturgical and artistic function.The walls of the Chapel are decorated with frescoes by great artists of the fifteenth century such as Sandro Botticelli, Pietro Perugino, Pinturicchio, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Luca Signorelli, Piero di Cosimo and Cosimo Rosselli, depicting scenes from the Old and New Testaments.
