Built in 1864, the lighthouse has guided ships along this challenging stretch of coastline for more than 160 years and remains an important symbol of Mossel Bay’s maritime heritage. Admire the lighthouse and learn about its history, its vital role in helping to protect passing vessels, and the spectacular coastal landscape that surrounds it. The experience continues with a walk up to the fascinating Cape St Blaize Cave, located beneath the cliffs along the famous St Blaize Trail. These ancient caves are internationally recognised for their archaeological importance and provide evidence of early human occupation dating back thousands of years.
