Part 1: The History & The Tongue We begin with a visual journey into the origins of Irish writing, from Ogham, to Insular script, working our way up to Cló Gaelach. You’ll see how this script evolved over 100s of years, examining beautiful prints, including the Irish Constitution, learn about what happened to Cló Gaelach and recent re-engagement with it. We’ll also learn about our very own English, Hiberno-English shaped by the Irish language and be taught a few essential Irish phrases to use during your stay.
