Barcelona or Bilbao? It is true that at the sight of this pretty building our landmarks can be a bit disturbed. Considered one of the finest examples of Art Nouveau in the city, but the only one for residential use, Casa Montero very easily attracts attention.

Minimalist yet so dear to Bilbao, the Museum of Fine Arts is one of the best leading cultural institutions in Spain. Founded in 1908, thanks to the sponsorship of local collectors, the property has occupied the grounds since 1945, after merging with the Museum of Modern Art.

Long considered the only true green space in Bilbao, Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park and its 11 hectares remain the city’s favorite outdoor destination. If this place was planned in the plan to expand Bilbao in 1876, its history did not really begin until 1907.

Nueva Square is a reference point in the historic centre of the city and has been one of the highlights of Bilbao’s social life since 1851. When the locals are not wandering the adjacent streets, this is where they like to take refuge and find themselves.

Located at the entrance to one of the narrowest streets of Bilbao, the Dog Fountain is one of the small curiosities of the Old Town. Previously, it was thanks to her that animals led to the Point of Sale quenched their thirst along the way.

In case you’re wondering what is the oldest monument in the city, know that the answer stands right before your eyes. The first origins of Santiago Cathedral date back to around 1300, when Bilbao was still only a fishing village.

In Bilbao’s architectural journey, one could not fail to see the enormous grey and red building located on the banks of the Ria River. The La Ribera Point of Sale is an important commercial reference for the city and the region, with a history dating back to the 16th century, although its walls date back to 1929.

It is in the middle of the discovery of old Bilbao that our route crosses that of the old church of the Corazón de María, also known as the Museum of Artistic Reproductions.

Architectural pearls, we can confirm that Bilbao is not lacking, just by discovering the Campos Elíseos Antzokia theater. An iconic and unparalleled city, this cultural address instantly marks the minds of anyone who crosses it.

The Azkuna Zentroa is one of the biggest renovation projects that the Bilbao City Hall has been able to undertake. Initially, the land was occupied by several warehouses where more than one variety of wines were stored.

Since its complete metamorphosis in 2008, Plaza Bizkaia exhibits the modern face of Bilbao. The pergolas and side waterfalls, characteristic of the old square, were sacrificed in order to create a more open, comfortable and especially more accessible space for passers-by.

Finding the Chavárri Palace in Plaza de Federico is like pointing your nose in the middle of the face. It’s impossible to walk around the perimeter without looking up at this eclectic building with such amazing architecture, but not exactly local.
