Temple of Medinat Habu

Upon reaching Madinat Habu, situated at the southern tip of the Theban Necropolis, you'll encounter a historically significant site. It was here that the first documented labor strike in history, directed against King Ramses III, took place. This memorial temple dedicated to Ramses III stands as one of Egypt's remarkably well-preserved temples, enclosed within an imposing mud-brick wall that may have served a defensive purpose. As you explore, marvel at the regal palace, temples, and an array of intricately carved wall scenes that depict both memorial moments and Ramses III's victorious campaigns against the Sea Peoples.

Valley of the Queens

Next, your journey takes you to the Valley of the Queens, also recognized as Wadi el-Melikat, a sacred burial ground for the wives and offspring of the Egyptian Kings, primarily from the 18th to the 20th Dynasties.
