Your destination is the remarkable archaeological site of Medinat Habu, situated near the base of the Theban Hills on the west side of the River Nile, directly across from modern Luxor, Egypt.

Temple of Medinat Habu

Medinat Habu holds historical significance and is primarily associated with the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III. This temple, stretching approximately 150 meters in length, follows an orthodox design closely resembling the mortuary temple of Ramesses II, known as the Ramesseum. The intricate details and grandeur of the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III offer a captivating glimpse into ancient Egyptian architecture and religious practices. Within the complex of Medinat Habu, you'll also have the opportunity to explore other temples, including the Temple of Amun, dating back to the 18th Dynasty. This particular temple was constructed by Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III, featuring a history marked by alterations and modifications over the centuries.
