We’ll park for about an hour, giving you the option to hike up to its base for a closer look—or just enjoy the view from the parking lot if you're feeling more “relax and snack” than “hike and sweat.” If conditions allow, we’ll cap off our trip with a drive over one of the stunning mountain roads, either Hrafnseyrarheiði or Álftamýrarheiði, open only in the summer for the bravest adventurers. If the roads are a no-go, we’ll tunnel our way back to Ísafjörður like the subterranean explorers we are.

Bolafjall Mountain is around 636 meters high, and the most popular attraction is the viewing platform on top of Bolafjall Mountain. The place offers a beautiful view over Ísafjarðadjúp, Jökulfirðir and some people say all the way to Greenland. The sunset is also amazing there. To get there you must drive up the road from Bolungarvík, the way to the radar station on the top. The station was built buy the Americans but is now controlled by the Icelandic coast guard. This road is open during summer from the middle of June until the middle of September. We have a special highlands bus for this tour, the road is very steep, and it is gravel road. We offer guided tour to this amazing platform and provide visitors with a breathtaking view.
