From there, we will enter a real historical treasure: the Catholic Church of Tecpán. With its impressive 500 years old, this sacred monument is a living witness of colonial times. Walking through its corridors is a step back in time; you can admire its architectural details, feel the peace of its centuries-old walls and learn about the fascinating stories and legends that surround this iconic place. The adventure continues at the archaeological site of Iximché, the ancient capital of the powerful Mayan Kingdom Kaqchikel. Here, history comes alive. We will explore imposing ceremonial squares and meet the pyramids over 5 meters high, from where Mayan rulers once ran their city. We will walk through the sacred courts of the Ball Game, imagining the intense sporting rituals that took place here. To cap the experience, we will visit the site museum, where artifacts and archaeological finds will tell us the secret stories of this great metropolis, closing the loop on our journey to the past.
