A complex of small and big palaces, museums and gardens encompassing a rich blend of Rajasthani, Mughal, Medieval, European and Chinese architecture. One of the most beautiful palatial structures in Rajasthan. Originally built by Maharana Uday Singh II, it rises 30 meters above Lake Pichola and extends up to 244 meters. The palace complex has been built entirely in granite and marble. The interior with its balconies, towers and cupolas exhibits delicate mirror work, marble work, murals, wall paintings, silver work, inlay work and colored glass mosaics. The complex provides a fine view of the lake and the city from its upper terraces. Getting inside the City Palace and explore several gateways, Amar Vilas, Badi Mahal, Chini Chitrashala, Choti Chitrashali, Dilkhusha Mahal, Durbar Hall, Fateprakash Palace, Jagdish Mandir, Krishna Vilas, Laxmi Vilas Chowk, Manak Mahal, Mor Chowk , Rang Bhawan, Sheesh Mahal and a museum.

Prochaine visite : le temple Jagdish. Situé à 150 mètres au nord du City Palace, ce temple de style indo-aryen est dédié à Vishnu. Visible depuis presque tous les points du centre historique, il est le monument le plus emblématique d'Udaipur. Les murs du temple et le shikara (tour) sont ornés de sculptures de Vishnu, de scènes de la vie de Krishna et de figurines de nymphes ou apsaras. La place, au pied des marches du temple, est également connue sous le nom de Jagdish Chowk, d'où partent plusieurs rues dans différentes directions.

Enjoy boat ride on Pichola Lake. An artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. The lake’s surroundings and several islands within the lake have been developed over the centuries with palaces, marble temples, family mansions, and bathing ghats. The famous Lake Palace (now converted into a heritage hotel) is located in the middle of the lake. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir, are located within Pichola Lake.

Un lac artificiel construit par Maharana au nord du lac Pichola en 1678 et au nord-ouest d'Udaipur. Dans les limites du lac Fateh Sagar se trouvent trois petites îles. La plus grande est le parc Nehru. La deuxième île abrite un parc public avec une impressionnante fontaine à jets d'eau, et la troisième abrite l'observatoire solaire d'Udaipur.

Construit par le Maharana Bhopal Singh, Saheliyon ki Bari signifie « Jardin des Servantes ». Ce jardin, situé au nord de la ville, abrite des fontaines et des kiosques, un bassin aux lotus et des éléphants en marbre. Chaque cours d'eau possède un son distinct, et le mélange de ces sons complète l'ambiance du lieu. On y trouve également un petit musée. Sahelion Ki Bari a été créé pour un groupe de 48 jeunes femmes qui accompagnaient une princesse à Udaipur en guise de dot.

Monsoon Palace is a former royal residence belonging to the Mewar dynasty, who ruled over this place for centuries. The palatial complex is named after its patron, Maharana Sajjan Singh, who ordered its construction and had it erected in 1884. It was originally intended to be a nine-storeyed astronomical observatory to note and assess the arrival and patterns of monsoon clouds, which could be easily perceived from the palace because of its location at a strategic vantage point at one of the hilltops of Aravalli, called Bansdara Peak. For this reason, it has also earned the name Monsoon Palace.

Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal is one of the most famous museums of Udaipur, exhibiting the brilliant collection of folk articles of Rajasthan. This rare compilation varies from typical rural-dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, folk musical instruments, folk deities and paintings. The museum is comfortably located in the building of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal near Chetak Circle in Udaipur city.
