From there, you'll board a modern, air-conditioned bus and begin a smooth ride through the peaceful landscapes of former East Germany. The drive to Berlin takes about three hours, giving you a comfortable and scenic start to your day.

Upon arriving in Berlin, your professional English-speaking guide will join the tour. You will then enjoy a drive-by view of Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin’s largest and most magnificent royal residence.

You’ll begin with a relaxing drive down Kurfürstendamm, one of Berlin’s most famous streets. This wide, elegant boulevard is filled with history and lined with beautiful buildings and well-known shops. It’s a great way to start getting to know the city from the comfort of your seat.

As you drive past the remains of a 19th-century church, your guide will explain how this site was damaged during WWII. The ruins are a powerful reminder of the past and show how the city has rebuilt over time.

You’ll pass KaDeWe, the largest department store in continental Europe. It’s been part of Berlin’s history for over 100 years and is known for its size, design, and reputation as a top shopping spot.

Next, you’ll ride through Tiergarten, Berlin’s central park. It’s a calm area full of trees and greenery. Along the way, you’ll also see several embassies, the Berlin Philharmonic, and a memorial honoring victims of a tragic period in history.

Have your camera ready for the golden statue of Victoria. As the bus drives around this famous monument, you’ll see her shining high above the city—a strong image of Germany’s history and pride.

You’ll step off the bus at the German parliament building to begin the walking part of your tour. Once damaged during WWII, it now stands rebuilt as a symbol of German democracy. This is your chance to see it up close and take photos.

As you walk through the park, you’ll pause at a quiet memorial for victims of Nazi persecution. It’s a brief but meaningful stop to reflect and learn more about this part of history.

You’ll walk through the Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks. Your guide will share why it means so much to the people of Germany. It’s a powerful symbol of unity, especially after the country’s division.

Next, you’ll visit a striking memorial made up of large gray blocks. This outdoor space honors the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. You’re welcome to walk through and reflect quietly as you take in the powerful design.

After lunch, you'll return to the bus and drive past Nikolaiviertel, the oldest part of Berlin. It has narrow streets and historic buildings, offering a glimpse of how the city looked before modern times

As the bus continues, you’ll see the tall TV Tower built in East Berlin during the Cold War. It’s one of the tallest structures in Europe and a clear sign of the city’s past and present.

Next, you’ll pass by the Old and New Town Halls and the Church of St. Mary. These buildings show Berlin’s long history and how it has changed over time.

You’ll stop briefly at Museum Island, a group of important buildings with beautiful architecture. Here you’ll see the Old Museum, Berlin Cathedral, and the Berlin City Palace. It’s a chance to take photos and enjoy the view.

Nazi Book Burning Memorial (Time Permitting) If time allows, you’ll visit a small square where the Nazis burned thousands of books in 1933. There’s a quiet memorial here, and your guide will explain what happened and why it matters.

You’ll travel down one of Berlin’s most famous streets, filled with buildings that tell the story of its imperial past. It’s a peaceful way to enjoy more of the city from your seat on the bus.

You’ll stop at a lovely square known for its two domed churches and a large concert hall. It’s a favorite place for visitors to take photos and enjoy the beauty of Berlin’s old architecture.

If time allows, you’ll stop at Checkpoint Charlie, the former crossing point between East and West Berlin. Your guide will share stories about what happened here during the Cold War. You may also have time for a quick photo or souvenir.

Your last stop is one of the most powerful: the Berlin Wall and the former SS and Gestapo headquarters. You’ll have time to look around and use the restrooms before getting back on the bus. Your guide will then bring you to Schloss Charlottenburg, and from there, you’ll head back to your ship feeling more connected to Berlin’s history.
