we continue at the heart of Tirana, Skanderbeg Square. This central plaza, spanning 40,000 square meters, is surrounded by iconic landmarks like the National History Museum, Opera House, and National Bank. The square is named after Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, and features his impressive 11-meter-tall statue. The square’s eclectic mix of architecture showcases Tirana’s diverse history, from Ottoman-era structures to Fascist and Communist influences, creating a fascinating backdrop for understanding Albanian Culture.
