The Alfama neighborhood is the oldest and most traditional in Lisbon. Starting the tour in this typical area of Lisbon, very different from all the others, will allow you to get to know this neighborhood and better understand the city's history and the way it grew.

At the end of the Alfama neighborhood, there is an area (Campo das Cebolas) of high historical value, the ruins of the ancient Roman port. Here you will see part of the ruins of the port and learn about the influence and importance that the Roman people had in Lisbon and Portugal several centuries ago.

This monumental and wonderful square, facing the Tagus River, which was the ancient gateway to the city of Lisbon, is currently the most important square in the city. Here we will make a stop so you can see the square, to explain why it is so important and also to explain how the devastating tsunami of 1755 happened and the social and architectural consequences.

After stopping at Comércio Sqaure, we will cycle for around 10 minutes, through the streets of downtown Lisbon, until we reach another important square in Lisbon, called Rossio. Another wonderful square in our city, where the National Theater, Lisbon's first major train station and the enigmatic São Domingos Church are located. In addition to these monuments, you can also discover some of the oldest and most legendary stores here.

Another few hundred meters and we will reach Praça dos Restauradores, which has the monument in the middle to remember the restoration of Portugal's independence in 1640. Here it will be explained why Portugal lost its independence for 60 years. Flanked by old cinemas and theaters, this square marks the beginning of Avenida da Liberdade, the most important in Lisbon.

The monumental Santa Justa elevator, built over 100 years ago, is one of Lisbon's best-known symbols. Here we will make a brief stop to explain the reason for its existence and the great importance it had.

This is the highest point in old Lisbon; here, in this unique location, you have an extraordinary view over the entire city.

Next to the Church and Convent of Graça is one of Lisbon's most famous viewpoints, offering a wonderful view of São Jorge Castle. While there, you can also take the opportunity to visit the church.

In this location, where the city's most famous street market takes place (Tuesdays and Saturdays), in addition to a fantastic view over the Tagus River, you can see up close the Monastery of São Vicente and the National Pantanal, two of the city's most iconic landmarks.
