It is the main square and tourist attraction of Colombia's capital Bogotá, formerly known as the Plaza Mayor, until 1821. Plaza de la Constitución is located in the heart of the city's historical area. It hosts a statue of Simón Bolvar, sculpted in 1846 by the Italian Pietro Tenerani, the city's first public monument. The plaza is surrounded by historic buildings and has been the site of numerous protests and demonstrations.

Metropolitan Cathedral Basilica of Bogotá and Primate of Colombia is a Roman Catholic Cathedral with a Neoclassical building located in Plaza de Bolivar and full of stunning history waiting to be discovered and experienced.

The Botero Museum houses one of Latin America's most important international art galleries. Besides, it also houses 123 works by Fernando Botero and 85 works by other artists totaling 208 works of art. Works by Balthus, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Salvador Dal, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Sonia Delaunay, Claude Monet, and Henri Matisse are among the highlights of the permanent collection.

The Luis Angel Arango Library was established in 1958 as a public library. Its collection has grown to become the country's premier library, the most important public library in Latin America, and one of the world's most visited.
