This green historic paradise is flanked by the World Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb (Above) on the South and the historic Purana Qila (Below) on the North. The ruins now nicely maintained were built during the early Mughal era in 16th Century. Later the nursery along with the ruins were established in the early 20th century to be used as a place for propagating trees and other plants to be used in the new capital city, and also for testing species brought from other parts of India and from abroad and only those were selected which successfully thrive in Delhi’s harsh climate.
