Warwick
À propos
A day that combines Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, and the Cotswolds gives travellers England in three rich chapters: drama, story, and scenery. Warwick Castle is a living medieval fortress of siege engines, a fantastic hawk display and real jousting knights. From there, the story shifts to Stratford-upon-Avon, where half-timbered houses, Holy Trinity Church, and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre all circle around one remarkable life – William Shakespeare – turning streets, pubs, and riverside paths into a living stage of literary history.
Then, as you roll into the Cotswolds, the mood softens: golden-stone villages such a Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford where honey-coloured lanes that feel ...

Warwick
We arrive at the medieval town of Warwick. Passing by Lord Leicester's hospital, a magnificent medieval half timbered building as we proceed to the castle

2
Château de Warwick
Your next stop is Warwick Castle, where massive siege engines hurl stones across the lawns, armoured knights clash in full-throttle jousts, and hawks skim low over your head in breathtaking flying displays. Climb the ancient battlements for bowman demonstrations and War of the Roses battle stories, wander through eerily lifelike waxwork scenes of plotting nobles and royalty, and feel history come alive in a non-stop day of medieval drama and spectacle.

Anne Hathaway's Cottage & Gardens
A great photo opportunity, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, a storybook thatched farmhouse in the village of Shottery, where Anne Hathaway, Shakespeare’s future wife, grew up and where their teenage courtship is traditionally imagined, a Tudor love story, complete with one of England’s most famous thatch roofs.

Moreton-in-Marsh
Moreton-in-Marsh is a classic Cotswold market town, often seen as a natural “gateway” into the Cotswold's. Thanks to its position on the old Roman Fosse Way. It lies close to the historic Four Shires Stone, where the boundaries of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxford shire meet.

Stow-on-the-Wold
“Stow-on-the-Wold,
Where the wind blows cold,
Where horses young and old are sold,
Where farmers come to spend their gold,
Where men are fools and women are bold,
And many a wicked tale is told,
High on the freezing Cotswold.”
We are now in the heart of the Cotswolds and during our visit we will visit the famous hobbit door of the parish church, said to have inspired JRR Tolkien when he was writing the Lord of the Rings. Our stroll continues through the streets where maybe we'll sample the local cheese and the famous chocolate shop. How about a quick drink in the oldest inn in England before we move on?

Burford
The English expression Tom, Dick and Harry generally refers disapprovingly of any random person. Well, Tom, Dick and Harry were real people, brigands who terrorised the local neighbourhood hundreds of years ago. Eventually they got their comeuppance. We'll find out what happened to them as well as two members of the local gentry who supposedly haunted the town following their deaths. We'll visit the local church where they are buried to find out more.
All this is miles away from the tranquil woollen mill town that Burford is today, a perfect place to end out day before heading back to London.
