We finish the experience at my home, where we enjoy a homemade dinner together. The location is about a 15-minute drive from Samarkand city center. After dinner, travelers return independently, and taxis back to the city center are easy to arrange.

Daul
Start your experience with a warm welcome in Daul, one of the most beautiful villages in Pastdargʻom district. Explore a real Uzbek village home—the courtyard, traditional tandir kitchen, garden, and cellar lined with homemade preserves—then step inside to see the rooms and learn how families live day to day. Along the way, hear local stories and customs, past and present, while friendly kittens roam the yard.

Daul
To better understand Uzbek village life, we’ll visit a second home—older and remarkably well-preserved. Step inside a 100+ year-old house where the original layout, doors, windows, and even wall carpets have been kept much as they were generations ago. Admire handmade furnishings and hand-painted room and ceiling details that reveal traditional village design up close.

Travel through wide green fields with your local guide, then stop for a short walk to a rustic countryside hut and a local animal cemetery. Continue to a scenic hilltop viewpoint to take in the river and village panorama—an easy moment to breathe and switch off. If you wish, try milking a cow and taste fresh milk on the spot, before ending with a peaceful sunset over the fields.

Stop at the "Dardu-G‘am" dam spillway viewpoint (a local name linked to “sorrow and worry”) and feel the power of moving water up close. Your guide will share the story behind the name and explain why this area is called Pastdarg‘om, adding a deeper cultural layer to the scenery. Take a few minutes for photos, fresh air, and the rush of the spillway before continuing the journey.

End the experience at my home with a full homemade Uzbek dinner prepared by my mother. Earlier in the tour, guests choose one traditional dish from the menu—such as plov, lagman, or manti—which is then freshly prepared and served with tea, bread, sweets, and other local snacks. Alongside the meal, guests also get a glimpse of modern Uzbek family life today, creating a meaningful contrast with the traditional village homes visited earlier in the day. It’s a warm and memorable way to end the tour—with good food, relaxed conversation, and a deeper understanding of both old and modern Uzbek life.
