After your audio-guided visit to the Colosseum, meet your driver at Piazza di San Clemente, right in front of the Basilica, to begin your Golf Cart tour.

En montant, nous remarquons l'atmosphère plus calme et résidentielle qui y règne, contrastant avec l'agitation de la ville en contrebas. Historiquement, cette colline possède un caractère particulier, autrefois associée à la plèbe. Admirez les magnifiques villas, les jardins paisibles et les églises. The old basalt blocks of the Appian Way lie beneath you, worn smooth by centuries of footsteps, carts, and history. As you pass through the park, ruins, tombs, and cypress trees appear like quiet guardians of the past, reminding you why this road was once called the Regina Viarum — the Queen of Roads."

En poursuivant notre route, nous longeons le vaste espace ouvert qui était autrefois le Circus Maximus. Imaginez cette zone remplie de foules déchaînées et de courses de chars palpitantes ! Datant du VIe siècle avant J.-C., ce stade antique pouvait accueillir des centaines de milliers de spectateurs, ce qui en faisait le plus grand du monde romain. Bien qu'il soit aujourd'hui un parc public, vous pourrez encore saisir son immensité et son importance historique en passant devant ce lieu légendaire du divertissement romain.

Notre voiturette de golf nous conduit maintenant au magnifique Jardin des Orangers, ou Giardino degli Aranci. Ce parc paisible, situé sur la colline de l'Aventin, offre une vue panoramique imprenable sur Rome. À votre arrivée, vous serez entourés d'orangers parfumés, qui ont donné son nom au jardin. Prenez un moment pour admirer la vue imprenable sur la ville, notamment la basilique Saint-Pierre et le Tibre. C'est l'endroit idéal pour une pause détente et des photos mémorables avec un décor spectaculaire.

Regardez le Théâtre de Marcellus. On peut encore voir les deux niveaux de sa façade, qui en comptait trois à l'origine. Le niveau inférieur était orné de colonnes doriques, tandis que le niveau supérieur était ionique, un style architectural typiquement romain. Sa construction fut un projet important pour Auguste, dédié à son neveu Marcellus, soulignant le mécénat de l'empereur pour les travaux publics et l'importance de sa famille.

En passant devant l'Arc de Janus, datant du IVe siècle apr. J.-C., sa fonction exacte est encore débattue par les historiens, ce qui ajoute à son charme mystérieux. Certains pensent qu'il était lié au commerce ou qu'il servait de marché couvert.

Your Golf Cart will then pass in front of the Theatre of Marcellus, allowing you to admire its iconic arches and the blend of ancient Rome and medieval architecture.

You will then continue toward Piazza Venezia, where you can take in the impressive view of the Vittoriano and the surrounding historic buildings.

The tour ends back at the Colosseum, where your driver will drop you off at the conclusion of your experience.
