Housed in the Villa Borghese Park, the Galleria Borghese houses a substantial part of the Borghese Collection of paintings, sculpture and antiquities, begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese. It was modified and extended down the years, eventually being sold to the Italian government in 1902, along with the surrounding gardens and parkland. Today the Galleria Borghese includes twenty rooms across two floors and houses absolute masterpieces by various artists including Bernini and Caravaggio.

Villa Borghese is a large city park in the city of Rome that includes green areas of different types, from the Italian garden to the large English-style areas, buildings, small buildings, fountains and ponds. It is the fifth largest public park in Rome, about 80 hectares, and houses the art collection of the Galleria Borghese.

The Pincio at its summit stands the oldest public garden in Rome, designed by Giuseppe Valadier. From its panoramic terrace, overlooking the Piazza del Popolo below, you can enjoy one of the most wonderful views of the Eternal City.
