Kilkenny Design Centre
Kilkenny Design, founded in 1963 by the Irish government, has been at the forefront of Irish design and craftsmanship. Based in Kilkenny City, it began by inviting global artisans to collaborate with local crafters, fostering a vibrant community of designers. This pioneering initiative spotlighted traditional Irish crafts using local materials. The success led to the opening of the first Kilkenny Design store in 1965, with the flagship store on Nassau Street, Dublin, following in 1976.
