Along the way, we visit Al Khaluf Cave, known for its peaceful setting and unique rock formations that offer a cool escape from the desert heat. Nearby, the Sugar Dunes display stunning white sands stretching to the sea, creating a magical landscape ideal for sunset, sunrise, and photography. The journey continues through Mahoot, a quiet coastal area with wide open views and a calm atmosphere. We also pass Shannah Port. The trip includes a visit to Ras Al Ruwais, known for its serene beaches and clear waters, before driving back to Muscat.

We depart from Muscat, we drive towards Al Khaluf Beach and Fishing Village. Al Khaluf Beach and its nearby fishing village form one of Oman’s most unique coastal destinations, where bright white “sugar dunes” meet a long, quiet stretch of sea, creating a rare desert–ocean landscape. The small village is home to a traditional fishing community, where wooden boats line the shore and fishermen bring in their daily catch, giving visitors a glimpse of local life. Located several hours south of Muscat, the area is remote and peaceful, making it ideal for camping, fishing, and off-road beach driving, especially during the cooler months from October to March.
