The northern lights known as the aurora borealis, are caused by collisions between particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole or Southern Pole. In Iceland, they are visible during the winter months, from late August to April. They appear in many different forms and colors although light green and pink are the most common.
We have a team of Northern Lights experts, their primary job in the winter is to study carefully the weather and aurora forecast.
