Nous commencerons par PARQUES DEL RIO, un projet de développement urbain transformateur visant à revitaliser les berges de la ville et à améliorer la qualité de vie de ses habitants. En réhabilitant et en embellissant les berges du fleuve Medellín, le projet améliore non seulement la beauté urbaine de la ville, mais crée également des espaces publics précieux pour les loisirs, la détente et l'engagement communautaire. Ces espaces verts offrent un répit loin de l'agitation urbaine et permettent aux habitants de se connecter à la nature et aux autres au cœur de la ville. L'importance de Parques del Río va au-delà de la simple embellissement ; il symbolise l'engagement de Medellín en faveur du développement urbain durable et de l'équilibre environnemental. And of course, we cannot miss the chance to sample some of the exotic fruits, further enhancing our sensory exploration, we'll try some gulupa, tomate de arbol, pitahaya, curuba, uchuvas, granadilla nad several more, Colombia is home of over 400 varieties of fruits!!

We cannot miss the opportunity to embark on a cable car journey, that's why this is our next stop—an emblem of progress and innovation in Medellín. This transportation played a significant role in positioning Medellín as the world's most innovative city, it is worth noting that Medellín boasts the only Metro system in Colombia, recognized as one of the most efficient in all of Latin America! We will embark on a captivating round trip aboard the cable car, ascending the mountains and soaring above the vibrant "barrios" of Medellín. This unique perspective offers a completely different vantage point, allowing us to absorb the diverse facets of the city and marvel at how its residents adapt to various circumstances. The views that unfold before our eyes are simply breathtaking, leaving an indelible impression. Prepare to have your mind blown as this experience showcases the ingenuity and resilience of the human spirit!

After, we'll head to the captivating, multicultural, and vibrant Comuna 13—a true testament to transformation and resilience. Once plagued by the control of drug dealers, guerrillas, and paramilitary groups, today it stands as the shining jewel of Medellín. We'll have a walk through the graffiti route to witness the remarkable fusion of art and history. The graffiti and murals scattered throughout the neighborhood vividly depict its tumultuous past, remarkable present, and its inspiring future. Ascending to the highest point of the mountain is a breeze, thanks to the electric escalators—so no worries for those who prefer an easier climb. Once at the top, we will be rewarded with an extraordinary and strategic view of the city, allowing us to understand why various armed groups sought control over Comuna 13.

Notre prochain arrêt sera l'emblématique « PLAZA BOTERO », du nom du célèbre artiste colombien Fernando Botero. Cette place, ornée de ses célèbres « grosses », est réputée pour être un centre culturel et artistique. Elle présente une collection de 23 sculptures en bronze surdimensionnées créées par Botero lui-même, permettant aux visiteurs d'interagir avec son héritage dans un espace ouvert et public. Les dimensions imposantes des sculptures sont tout simplement irrésistibles. La création de cette place en 2002 a marqué un tournant dans les efforts de la ville pour se réapproprier les espaces publics et promouvoir l'inclusion sociale. En consacrant une place publique importante aux sculptures de Botero, Medellín célèbre son patrimoine culturel et souligne son engagement en faveur de la paix, de la réconciliation et de l'expression culturelle. Constructed in the neoclassical style during the early 20th century, the palace stands as a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage. Originally designed to house governmental offices, El Palacio Nacional now serves as a cultural center and an incredible art gallery, showcasing exhibitions that highlight Colombia's political, social, diversity, cutlures and artistic evolution. The palace's grandiose facade, adorned with imposing columns and intricate detailing, commands attention and evokes a sense of grandeur honoring its historical significance.
