Koh Ker or Prasat Kaôh Ké is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 90 kilometers away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a jungle-filled region that is sparsely populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found in a protected area of 81 square kilometers, Only about two dozen monuments can be visited by tourists because most of the sanctuaries are hidden in the forest and the whole area is not fully demined.
Koh Ker is the modern name for an important city of the Khmer empire. In inscriptions, the town is mentioned as Lingapura (city of lingams), (translated as city of glance, or as iron tree forest).

Temple de Koh Ker
Koh Ker est un complexe de temples du Xe siècle situé dans la jungle du nord du Cambodge. Ancienne capitale de l'Empire khmer, le site est aujourd'hui isolé et fortement boisé. Le temple de Koh Ker, structure principale, est une pyramide à sept niveaux. Le grand réservoir rectangulaire, Rahal Baray, alimentait le complexe en eau. Le Prasat Krahom, qui signifie « temple rouge », est connu pour ses sculptures en grès, tandis que le Prasat Pram est recouvert de figuiers étrangleurs.

Prasat Neang Khmao
Very beautiful, an amazing masterpiece that to some extent lucky enough to survive to remain the main structure amidst recent vandalism right after the civil war. Though its stones are black which may cause by natural heat, one can still find this place attractive n peaceful to relax.

This is one of my favorite temples in Cambodia. Not only is it really beautiful, but its remoteness and serenity are also awe-inspiring. Like Ta Phrom, trees have grown in and around the shrines adding a romantic feel to the place.

Nice big linga, in relatively good condition. Water hole on the side of the temple is still intact

Another beautiful temple located just opposite to Prasat Thom Which is the pyramid temple at Koh Ker.
