Important Notice for August 20-September 6 Due to rehearsal activities, Tian’anmen Square will be closed on August 20 till September 6. Tickets for the Forbidden City must be booked 7 days in advance. Foreign visitors without a reservation may try to purchase tickets on site, subject to the daily quota. While Chinese guides cannot accompany you inside without prior booking, they will be available to assist with audio guide rentals for an informative visit. On this special day, your journey will include: a morning visit to the magnificent Summer Palace, followed in the afternoon by either exploring the Forbidden City with audio guide (if tickets are available) or enjoying an authentic rickshaw ride through Beijing’s historic hutongs.
