This hike connects two of the tallest peaks of Madeira Island. This is a stunning route, which includes tunnels and a few stretches with steep rises and descents, offering fabulous views of the island’s central massive. It is also possible to observe several birds, some of which are exclusive to Macaronesia, such as the canary of the land (Serinus canaria), the petty of the field (Anthus berthelottii madeirensis) and the andorinhão-da-serra (Apus unicolor).
