Each year these magnificent creatures migrate south from Alaska, and although you can see them throughout Hawaii, the ‘Au ‘au channel off the coast of Maui boasts the greatest number. It is recognized as America's absolute densest winter nursery for humpback whales. On this tour, you will cruise through these legally protected national marine sanctuary waters to witness mother whales nursing, protecting, and teaching their newborn calves. Keep your eyes on the horizon to watch mothers demonstrating spectacular full-body breaches, teaching calves how to slap their pectoral fins, and guiding them through their very first shallow dives in West Maui's legendary whale playground.
