Gravina Di Puglia
Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Matera. Head to the 18th-century masterpiece of the Orsini Dukes, a 37-meter-high and 90-meter-long bridge. Built in 1750 to carry pure spring water from Sant'Angelo and San Giacomo sources to the ducal palaces, the bridge is famous for its appearance in the James Bond movie "No Time to Die."
Visit the rock church "Madonna della Sella," which inspired the bridge's construction, the hidden soul of the Gravina. Admire the breathtaking perspective of the bridge towering above you.
Discover the aqueduct channels and rupestrian cisterns in the caves, and see centuries-old holm oaks and wild orchids. Climb the Clock Tower for 360° views over the bridge and Gravina.
Continue to Piazza Duomo to see the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, dating back to the 12th century. Visit the Ducal Palace, the Orsini residence that commissioned the bridge.
After a 15-minute descent down steps and a gravel path, return to your hotel in Matera.
