Marché de Livramento
Inaugurated on July 31, 1876, under the initiative of the then Mayor of Setúbal, António Rodrigues Manito, the market has undergone successive renovations and expansions, with the current building dating from 1930.
The 5,700 tiles that decorate the market walls date from the 1930 expansion and depict the city’s agricultural and fishing activities. These were created by José António Jorge Pinto and Pedro Pinto. At the north entrance, two additional panels featuring images of the city, created by Rosa Rodrigues, date from 1944.

Chaîne de montagnes d'Arrabida
Arrábida Natural Park, established in 1976, covers an area of approximately 10,800 hectares, protecting the Mediterranean-type maquis vegetation that thrives in this unique microclimate, similar to Adriatic regions such as Dalmatia.
The Arrábida mountain range was formed about 7 million years ago as a result of the collision between the African and Euro-Asian tectonic plates. This same geological process also led to the formation of the Mediterranean Sea, a process that took hundreds of millions of years.

Handmade Tiles – Three Different Techniques
Traditional Hand-Painting:
Each tile is carefully painted by hand using fine brushes and vibrant ceramic paints, allowing for intricate and unique designs.
Stencil Technique:
A stencil is applied to the tile surface, and colors are brushed or sprayed through the stencil, creating repeated patterns with precise edges.
Relief or Embossed Technique:
Tiles are molded or carved to create raised designs, adding texture and depth before being painted or glazed by hand.

Igreja de Sao Tiago - Igreja Matriz de Sesimbra
The Castle Church dates back to 1165, although it was only during the reign of King Sancho I that the construction of a larger Romanesque-Gothic church, Santa Maria do Castelo, worthy of the newly established municipality, began.
In 1165, the Parish of Our Lady of the Castle of Sesimbra was created.
The current church dates from the early 18th century, specifically 1721, as it suffered significant damage over the centuries.
In the 20th century, starting from 1955, the church began to lose its congregation because a new church was built in the nearby village of Corredoura, much closer to the population. As a result, the Castle Church started to fall into disrepair and eventually became a ruin, with the roof collapsing.
