Historical Katsuyama Town Conservation Area
Katsuyama flourished as a post town and castle town on the Izumo Kaido road. It has been designated as a "Preserved Streetscape District" due to the old townscape with white walls and lattice windows that still remains. In recent years, it has been called the "Town of Noren," with colorful "noren" (traditional Japanese curtains) displayed at the eaves of each house. A guide will explain its history.
