From Jemaa el-Fna Square, we will admire the majestic Mosquée Koutoubia, one of Marrakech’s greatest symbols, dating back to the 12th century. As access to the mosque is reserved for Muslims, the explanation will be given from the esplanade and the surrounding areas of the square, where we enjoy a remarkable view of its iconic minaret.
I will present its fascinating history, its role as a landmark for travelers over the centuries, and its influence on Almohad and Andalusian architecture in the region.
