Bac Sum Pass
Bac Sum Pass is one of the first mountain passes that we will cross when leaving Ha Giang city to head to the Dong Van stone plateau. This pass winds around the mountainside, with many sharp turns, but that is precisely why the scenery is extremely spectacular. From above, the entire valley unfolds before your eyes, especially in the early mornings when the clouds drift by, giving the feeling of walking in a fairyland.
The locals often refer to Bac Sum as the "first door" that opens the journey of the Ha Giang Loop. If you're lucky enough to visit during the rice season or the buckwheat flower season, the beauty will be even more impressive. This is also a spot where tourists love to stop and take pictures to mark the "beginning of their adventure."

Quan Ba Heaven Gate
️ Quan Ba Heaven Gate – The Gateway to Ha Giang’s Stone Plateau
Quan Ba Heaven Gate, located at an altitude of around 1,500 meters above sea level, marks the first stop on the journey into the majestic Dong Van Karst Plateau. Often called the "gateway to the stone paradise," it offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
From this viewpoint, visitors can admire the charming town of Tam Son below and the famous Fairy Bosom Twin Mountains (Nui Doi Co Tien) – a natural wonder wrapped in local legend and myth.
With cool, fresh air year-round, the gate is especially breathtaking at sunrise or sunset, when layers of mist and clouds weave through the limestone peaks, creating a mystical and peaceful atmosphere.

Lung Tam Village
Lung Tam Village – The Art of Traditional Hmong Hemp Weaving
Located in Quan Ba District, Lung Tam Village is home to the Hmong ethnic community, known for preserving the ancient craft of hemp weaving. Here, visitors can witness the entire, meticulous process of creating hemp fabric – from growing and harvesting the hemp plant, stripping and spinning the fibers, weaving, dyeing with natural colors, to embroidering traditional motifs by hand.
Hemp weaving in Lung Tam is more than a craft – it’s a cultural heritage and spiritual tradition passed down through generations of Hmong women. Every piece of cloth tells a story of patience, skill, and the deep connection between the people and their land.
The village is also home to a women-led cooperative, an inspiring model of empowerment and sustainable development, where local women take charge of production, sales, and cultural preservation.

Dinh Vua Meo
Hmong King's Palace – The Hidden Jewel of Dong Van
Tucked away in the heart of the Dong Van Karst Plateau, the Hmong King’s Palace (also known as the Palace of King Vua Meo) is a stunning historical and cultural site that once served as the residence of Vương Chính Đức, the most powerful Hmong leader in the early 20th century.
Built in the 1910s, the palace combines Chinese, French colonial, and Hmong architectural styles, with intricate wooden carvings, stone walls, and a majestic layout. It was constructed using the finest materials brought from China and skillful local artisans, reflecting both wealth and influence.
Surrounded by rocky mountains and lush greenery, the palace is a quiet yet powerful reminder of a time when the Hmong people had their own kingdom-like autonomy under the reign of the Vương family. It is also a place to learn about the political, cultural, and trade history of the region, especially during the French colonial era.
