We will briefly stop by the historic monastery complex, founded in 1350 by the Rosenberg family. Originally home to Minorites, Poor Clares, and later Beguines, it spans nearly a fifth of Český Krumlov’s old town and is the second most important heritage site after the castle. We'll walk through the peaceful courtyard and see the exteriors of the former convent buildings before continuing on. This quick stop offers a glimpse into the town’s medieval monastic history without going inside the museum.

« Latrán » est le nom de la rue qui abrite de prestigieuses maisons gothiques et baroques. On peut notamment y admirer le couloir de liaison, élément d'un système unique reliant l'église du monastère au château.

We will walk through the 5 courtayrds of the castle and climb the tower. The castle was first mentioned in 1253AD. The names of emperors who lived there are: Víteks, Rosenbergs, Voks, Eggenbergs, Schwarzenbergs... From 1947 the castle belongs to the state. We will enter through the Red Gate. You can say Hi to the bears who "protect" the castle. Visiting of the main landmark (the oldest part of the castle with small museum and the famous tower) is recommended. There are beatiful views... but lot of old stairs to climb! The tower is closed on Mondays from November to March.

Ce pont couvert très impressionnant, composé d'arcades monumentales et de deux étages de couloirs couverts, relie le château au théâtre baroque et aux jardins.

Nous traverserons la Vltava par la petite passerelle et nous dirigerons vers l'église Saint-Guy par la rue « Široká ». Nous nous arrêterons à la maison n° 77, datant du XVIe siècle, où vécut l'alchimiste qui trompa Guillaume de Rosenberg.

L'église catholique romaine Saint-Guy est, après le château, le monument le plus célèbre de la ville. Elle fut construite vers 1400 après J.-C. On peut y admirer son architecture gothique typique, ses deux petits autels gothiques et le maître-autel baroque.

De l'extérieur, nous apercevrons l'ancien collège jésuite, aujourd'hui l'hôtel Růže. Nous nous arrêterons au point de vue et continuerons vers la place Svornosti.

La place date du Moyen Âge, tout comme les marchés réguliers. Nous verrons l'hôtel de ville (trois maisons gothiques reliées au XVIIe siècle). La colonne de la Peste, avec sa statue de la Vierge Marie et ses huit saints, a été construite au début du XVIIIe siècle.

Before heading back to the vehicle, we’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch at one of the local restaurants — a chance to taste regional cuisine and soak in the town’s charming atmosphere.

After leaving Český Krumlov, we’ll drive about 40 minutes to Hluboká nad Vltavou — the second most visited destination in South Bohemia. This extraordinary neo-Gothic castle, inspired by Windsor Castle in England, was beautifully rebuilt by the Schwarzenberg family in the 19th century. We’ll spend approximately 45 minutes here in total — walking from the central square up to the castle, enjoying the elegant courtyard, strolling around the exterior, and taking in the manicured gardens and panoramic views before returning to the vehicle. It’s a truly impressive stop and one of the most photogenic spots in the region.
