Devprayag
Devprayag – Where the Sacred Ganges is Born
Devprayag is the sacred place where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi Rivers merge and, from this confluence onward, flow together as the holy River Ganges (Ganga). This confluence is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India and holds immense religious significance.
Another major attraction of Devprayag is the ancient Raghunath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his incarnation as Lord Rama.
Devprayag – The Most Revered of the Panch Prayag
Located about 70 km from Rishikesh, the historic town of Devprayag has preserved its ancient spiritual heritage despite the passage of time. The town is home to the historic Raghunath Temple, one of the oldest temples in the region.
Situated on an elevated stone platform in the upper part of the town, the temple rises to a height of approximately 80 feet. It was constructed using massive stone blocks without the use of cement and is believed to be 1,700–2,000 years old.

Adi Badri Temple
Adi Badri is considered the oldest of the Panch Badri (Five Sacred Badri Temples) in Uttarakhand. . The temple complex consists of a group of ancient stone shrines collectively known as Adi Badri.
The Panch Badri pilgrimage circuit includes:
• Adi Badri
• Badrinath
• Bhavishya Badri
• Vriddha Badri
• Yog Dhyan Badri
Today, the Adi Badri temple complex is a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which is responsible for preserving this important historical and religious heritage.
A Unique Complex of Ancient Temples
di Badri is unique because Lord Vishnu (Badri Narayan) is worshipped here in a standing posture of deep meditation (Tapasya Mudra). Originally, the complex consisted of 16 temples, although two have been destroyed over time, leaving 14 surviving shrines today.
