Temple populaire de Chiang Rai, un incontournable. Wat Rong Khun, plus connu sous le nom de Temple Blanc, est un temple bouddhiste situé à Pa O Don Chai, dans le district de Mueang, province de Chiang Rai, en Thaïlande. Situé à l'extérieur de la ville de Chiang Rai, le temple attire un grand nombre de visiteurs, thaïlandais et étrangers, ce qui en fait l'une des attractions les plus visitées de Chiang Rai.

The Hall of Opium at the Golden Triangle Park houses several sections to be explored and various exhibitions to be contemplated. The Hall of Opium Museum is a combination of multimedia and exhibition to make learning more fun. Aiming to educate people about opium, this exhibition portrays every angle of the story, starting from the history of the Golden Triangle, the origin of opium, the opium war, opium warlords, drug smugglers, opium effects, the battle against opium and poppy growing, to rehabilitation of living conditions of the people who live in the central of the Golden Triangle, the former worldwide infamous drug trading zone. The exhibition features the following zones: Entrance Zone: A 137-meter-long dark tunnel towards an artificial poppy field in the Hall Zone. Hall Zone: An artificial poppy field, where you can learn about various species of poppy flowers. Opium in Siam Zone

Village Karen de Longneck Les Karen de Longneck appartiennent à la tribu Karen. Ils se nomment Padaung. On pense qu'ils sont originaires de la province du Yunnan, en Chine centrale. Plus tard, vers l'an 1000, ils auraient migré vers le bassin de la Salween, au Myanmar. En 1995, on comptait environ 25 000 Padaungs vivant au Myanmar. Ils vivent principalement de l'agriculture traditionnelle. Suite aux incidents politiques contre les minorités du Myanmar, les Padaungs ont quitté le pays et, jusqu'à présent, ne peuvent pas identifier précisément leur lieu de résidence principal. On pense qu'ils se sont dispersés dans toute la région et cohabitent avec d'autres groupes minoritaires armés pour se protéger.

Golden Triangle The wonder of Golden Triangle is the visit to 3 countries; Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos, in one place. It is 9 kilometres north of Chiang Saen along the Mekong riverside road. Sop Ruak is the place where Mekong River, the border between Thailand and Laos, meets Ruak River, the border between Thailand and Myanmar. In the past, Golden Triangle was the world's large source of drug trafficking owing to its privileged location attached to many countries. However, it is currently taken good care of and becomes a popular tourist attraction. From the viewpoint, the tourists will find the land that connects the three countries, surrounded by long and calm waterway. There is boat rental service at Sop Ruak so that the tourists can admire the view at Golden Triangle. The trip takes only 20 minutes. No boat riding for this trip.

Situé dans la communauté de Rong Suea Ten, sous-district de Rim Kok, ce temple a été restauré par M. Phutta Kabkaew, dit « Sala Nok », artiste local de Chiang Rai et élève d'Achan Chalermchai Kositpipat. Ce temple est d'une beauté exceptionnelle, avec ses arts appliqués uniques utilisant une nuance de bleu et la beauté architecturale d'un stucateur. L'Ubosot, outre sa conception unique et magnifique, abrite des peintures murales retraçant la vie du Bouddha. Il abrite également Phra Phuttha Ratchamongkhon Bodi Trailok Nak, qui signifie « le Bouddha majestueux et propice des trois mondes ». Cette statue, très attrayante, mesure 6,5 mètres de haut et 5 mètres de large. Elle abrite 88 000 représentations de Phra Rot Lamphun, ainsi que des bagues en or et en argent et de nombreux objets de valeur enfouis sous la statue. De plus, la zone de la tête contient les reliques du Bouddha, offertes par Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Vajirananasamvara.

Black House The Black House is a complex of 40 buildings, most made of dark teak wood, set in large, beautiful gardens. In Thai known as Baan Dam, meaning Black House, the buildings house a collection of paintings, sculptures, silver and gold items, animal bones and skins. 40 Houses Baan Dam is the work of Thai artist Thawan Duchanee, who started the project in 1975 and lived in several of the houses. On the grounds are about 40 houses in various shapes and sizes built from wood, concrete, brick, glass and terracotta; most of them are in black. The Black House is set in large grounds with trees, rock gardens and sculptures.

One of the most popular tourist attractions in northern Thailand is the stunning Chui Fong Tea Plantation, which is especially attractive at the end of raining season and the beginning of winter. Now there are two branches of the plantation in Chiang Rai that are available to visit. The first one is in Mae Chan district and the second one is in Mae Fa Luang district. This time we are talking about the one in Mae Chan district. This place is not only well known for its delicious tea but also the picturesque terraced tea fields. The scent of tea, when enjoyed with the plantation’s desserts and stunning setting, is a perfect combination.
